  Describe Your Sense of Humor

  i think posting on a discussion board can tend to come across in a certain way, personality wise.. i'm the type of person "in real life" that is usually considered quite funny.

  i have a very quick wit and i can usually disable someone rather quickly with a facial expression, smile or definitive body language.

  of course, you can't see those things here but you might notice a person's humor (or lack of it) by how they post.. so what tickles your funny bone?

  My sense of humour (spelt HUMOUR not HUMOR) is totally random - from the Dry & Sarcastic (but lets not go into that again) to the Ridiculous...

  I often have to bite my tongue so that I don't make a joke out of something serious, as I see the funny side of most things. Lots of people don't get my humour but when they do, and they enjoy my joke, well nothing gives me greater pleasure.

  I love some of the quick wits on this forum and often wish I were quicker to think of funny comments - I am often one of those people who thinks of something funny to say once the moment is gone.

  My years as a Social Misfit - memories come flooding back!

  so i was on facebook last night and just started randomly searching names and checking out people i knew, their profiles and friends etc and i came across a whole bunch of names of jw people i knew as a teenager.

  a whole host of memories came flooding back, unpleasant and happily forgotten memories.. ... feeling lonley, unpopular, gossip, cliquiness, bitchy comments, feeling like i would never attract a suitable "brother" for courtship and other such silliness.... i went to bed feeling very disturbed and sad and uncomfortable and i had a horrible night.

  but the fact is, i am now an adult and i am generally well liked by most i meet (or so i think .

  The funny thing, Andre, is that I don't have the same bad memories when I come across ex school friends on Facebook. When I see the familiar names of Dub kids, I imagine them barely remembering me (not that I really want to get in touch with them again) but when I see the names of the kids I went to school with, I have no hesitation in contacting them and believing they will remember me.

  Oprah & Sexual Abuse & JW's - an interesting episode?

  i was watching oprah today and a thought crossed my mind... based on the recent sexual assault case in sa at her school, and her reaction to that situation, this is obviously an issue close to her heart, so wouldn't her show be a perfect forum for an expose on the jw/pedophilia issue?

  hi all i know that you guys have probably discussed this to death so i thank you in advance!!!!.

  i have (through this site) been exposed to this horrible fact - i must say i had never heard of anything like it before (well amongst the jws anyway).

  i've gone to the link here www.watchtowerdocuments.com and have been onto silentlambs.com.. the thing is - being in south africa no one and i mean no one has been exposed to this news about what is happening in this faith.

  I agree with your comments completely. The fact that this whole pedo situation in the states exists is shocking, but because it is the states, it seems so far away and I am sure that if I were to approach anyone I knew here, they would use the "well that happened in America" defense. I am sure that it the same thing were to be exposed here, it would cause significant waves within the org. here... and I can't imagine that it hasn't happened.

  As for mobilising the ExJW's here - well I know that there are many, but how to get them into action, I dont know?

  so i read everyone's posts and get to know the screen names of all of you on jwd and have this picture in my head of what those of you who dont have real photos of yourselves as avatars, and i wonder how wrong i would be if i were to meet any of you in person... so my question is this - what do you think i look like?
